What does a Social Media Designer do?
A Social Media Designer conceives and produces visual assets tailored specifically for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X. Working closely with social media managers, copywriters, and brand teams, they translate campaign briefs and content calendars into on-brand graphics, short-form animations, Stories, Reels covers, carousel layouts, and ad creatives. They adapt designs to each platform's specifications and audience expectations, maintain visual consistency with brand guidelines, and iterate quickly based on performance data and feedback.
Key responsibilities
- Design static and animated graphics for organic and paid social media posts
- Adapt creative assets to platform-specific formats and dimension requirements
- Build and maintain reusable template libraries for recurring content formats
- Collaborate with social media managers and copywriters to execute content calendars
