What does a Talent Agent do?
A Talent Agent in the creator economy represents digital creators, influencers, and online personalities, acting as their primary business advocate. Day-to-day, they pitch clients to brands and agencies for paid partnerships, negotiate deal terms and fees, review and redline contracts, and advise creators on which opportunities align with their audience and long-term brand. They maintain a pipeline of inbound and outbound partnership leads, coordinate with managers and lawyers on complex deals, and track industry rate benchmarks to ensure clients are fairly compensated.
Key responsibilities
- Source and pitch brand partnership opportunities for a roster of digital creators
- Negotiate deal terms, fees, usage rights, and exclusivity clauses on behalf of clients
- Review and redline contracts in coordination with legal counsel
- Advise creators on opportunity fit, brand alignment, and career positioning
- Maintain and grow relationships with brand marketing teams, agencies, and casting directors
- Track deal pipeline, deliverables, and payment timelines across the roster
Skills & tools
Education & background
Bachelor's degree in communications, business, or entertainment management, though demonstrated deal-making experience and an existing industry network are often weighted equally
