What does a Sound Designer do?
A Sound Designer creates, records, edits, and implements audio assets across a project, whether that's a podcast, film, game, or branded content. Day-to-day work involves recording and manipulating source material, designing sound effects and ambiences from scratch, mixing and editing audio to picture or script, and collaborating with directors, producers, and other creatives to ensure the sonic identity matches the creative vision. In interactive or game contexts, they also implement audio into engines like Wwise or FMOD, setting up logic for dynamic and adaptive sound systems.
Key responsibilities
