What does a Studio Manager do?
A Studio Manager runs the end-to-end operations of a fitness, pilates, cycling, or creative studio. Day-to-day work spans opening and closing procedures, front-of-house team supervision, instructor and staff scheduling, membership and retail sales, client relationship management, and ensuring the studio meets cleanliness and brand standards. They act as the primary point of contact for members, handle complaints and retention, track key performance metrics, and coordinate with regional or corporate leadership on targets and initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily studio operations including opening, closing, and floor coverage
- Hire, train, and supervise front-of-house and support staff
- Drive membership sales, renewals, and retail revenue targets
- Oversee class and staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage
- Maintain client experience standards and resolve member issues
- Report on studio KPIs and implement operational improvements
