What does a Content Producer do?
A Content Producer manages the full lifecycle of video and digital content, from interpreting a creative brief and scripting, through organising shoots, directing on-camera talent, and operating cameras, to editing footage and delivering finished assets optimised for their target platform. They work across formats including short-form social video, long-form editorial, branded content, and event coverage, often acting as a one- or two-person production unit. Day-to-day they coordinate logistics, manage timelines, collaborate with social, marketing, and editorial teams, and ensure each piece of content meets platform specs and brand guidelines before publication.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and manage video and digital content projects from brief to delivery
- Script, storyboard, and develop concepts aligned to brand or editorial goals
- Operate cameras and audio equipment on location or in-studio shoots
- Edit footage using non-linear editing software to produce polished final cuts
- Coordinate shoot logistics including talent, locations, and equipment
- Optimise and publish content across digital and social platforms
- Collaborate with social media, marketing, and editorial teams on content calendars

Degree in film, media production, journalism, or communications, or equivalent portfolio of produced work
