What does a Multimedia Producer do?
A Multimedia Producer oversees the full production lifecycle of video, audio, and digital content, from concept development and scripting through filming, editing, and final delivery. They work across formats including promotional videos, social media content, podcasts, and interactive media, coordinating with creative, marketing, and technical teams to ensure each asset meets brand standards and platform requirements. In AI-augmented workflows, they increasingly integrate generative tools to accelerate production and expand creative output.
Key responsibilities
- Develop concepts, scripts, and storyboards for video and multimedia projects
- Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment on location or in-studio shoots
- Edit footage using non-linear editing software, adding motion graphics, colour grading, and sound design
- Manage production schedules, assets, and delivery timelines across multiple projects
- Adapt content for distribution across platforms (web, social, broadcast, internal comms)
- Integrate AI-assisted tools for tasks such as automated editing, voiceover, or asset generation

Portfolio-based; a degree or diploma in film production, media, communications, or a related field is common but not universally required
