Sound Designer Intern job description
Job Description
As a Sound Design Intern, you will support the Audio Team in creating, editing, and implementing high-quality audio assets for our games. This internship offers hands-on experience in game audio production, providing opportunities to work alongside sound designers, composers, game designers, artists, and programmers throughout the game development process.
This role is ideal for students who are passionate about game audio, sound design, and interactive media, and are eager to develop their skills in a professional game development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating, editing, and processing sound effects and other audio assets for games.
- Support the implementation and integration of audio assets into game engines and development tools.
- Organize, manage, and maintain audio asset libraries and project files.
- Participate in audio testing, quality assurance, and bug verification to ensure audio functions as intended.
- Collaborate with game designers, artists, programmers, and composers to support project audio needs.
- Assist with recording, editing, and preparing audio content when required.
- Follow project documentation, naming conventions, and audio production pipelines.
- Perform additional audio-related tasks as assigned by the Audio Team.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree or diploma in Audio Production, Sound Design, Music Technology, Multimedia, Game Development, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of digital audio editing using software such as Reaper, Pro Tools, Audition, Audacity, or similar DAWs.
- Understanding of sound design principles, audio editing, and file management.
- Passion for video games and interactive audio.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to receive constructive feedback.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of game engines (Unity or Unreal Engine), audio middleware (FMOD or Wwise), or scripting is a plus but not required.
- A portfolio or demo reel showcasing audio or sound design work is highly encouraged.
