About The Lazy CEO:
Jane Lu is an Australian entrepreneur best known as the founder and CEO of Showpo, a global online fashion brand. The Lazy CEO Podcast, focuses on entrepreneurship, business growth, mindset, and personal development. Jane interviews founders, industry leaders, and experts about how they built successful brands, while also sharing honest insights into leadership, scaling a business, and balancing ambition with life.
The Position:
Jane Lu aka The Lazy CEO is entering a new stage of growth, and YouTube is where that growth lives. We're bringing The Lazy CEO podcast fully in-house, and we want someone who can drive it forward by thinking video-first at every step, not just recording audio with a camera running.
You'll own the guest relationship from first contact through to published episode, produce the show live on recording days, and shoot and produce every episode as YouTube-ready, long-form video. You'll manage distribution and socials across the week, and be the primary point of contact for the iHeart partnership.
We want a YouTube-first creative who can carry the podcast under one consistent, elevated standard of production.
Day to day you will be responsible for:
Own guest outreach, scheduling, and all pre-recording communication, keeping the guest pipeline at least 4 weeks ahead at all times.
Brief guests ahead of recording, manage logistics for on-site recording days, and act as producer in the room during live recording.
Shoot and produce full-length podcast episodes as YouTube-ready, long-form video, thinking video-first at every stage of production.
Act as primary editor for every episode, both the full-length video and the audio mix, from raw recording through to a polished, publish-ready final cut.
Drive the content calendar for the podcast, including themes, angles, and segment ideas that push the content forward.
Review all podcast content for quality, pacing, and brand alignment before it goes anywhere near an audience.
Work with the offshore editor to brief, review, and sign off short-form social edits.
Manually post and manage The Lazy CEO podcast social accounts across 5 days per week, replacing the current agency model, including cross-posting episodes and clips to the podcast's Instagram and TikTok pages.
Who are you?
A portfolio you can share that shows video-first podcast production, alongside a genuine understanding of how long-form content performs on YouTube.
3+ years of proven experience producing a podcast, ideally in the business, entrepreneurship, or media space.
Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro for long-form video, Audition for podcast audio), with strong sound design, mixing, and colour correction skills.
Existing relationships in the Australian media and podcast landscape.
A genuine self-starter who takes ownership without needing to be chased, and is energised rather than overwhelmed by juggling multiple episodes, edits, and deadlines at once.
