We believe that AI is a collaborator, not just a tool, and we invite passionate individuals to join us on our journey as we continue to learn, experiment, and grow together.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Content is the lifeblood of Signal. Our advanced AI-powered analysis rests on a bedrock of premium, diverse content—print news, online news, broadcast, blogs, regulation, tax, and more. This content must be licensed, ingested, served, searched, and distributed seamlessly to our users.
As Head of Content Licensing, you'll own the end-to-end strategy and execution of Signal's content licensing function. This is a mission-critical, highly cross-functional role bridging commercial, product, legal, compliance, and technology. You'll be the connective tissue between content providers, internal stakeholders, and our customers—designing streamlined processes to onboard new sources, manage relationships, and ensure compliance at scale.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to manage and expand our content portfolio and advance our commercial success and product vision. We'll measure your success by the value of content we acquire for our customers, the efficiency of our licensing operations, and the trust we build with partners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategy & Partnerships
Own the content licensing strategy and lead negotiations with new and existing content providers
Evaluate and prioritise new content sources based on product roadmap, market gaps, and revenue impact
Build and maintain relationships with key publishing partners, ensuring mutual value and long-term growth
Operations & Compliance
Design and scale licensing workflows—from source evaluation through ingestion, legal review, and contract management
Ensure all content licensing aligns with contractual terms, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards
Develop metrics and dashboards to track content portfolio health, licensing costs, and ROI
Product Collaboration
Partner with the product and data ingestion teams to translate licensing constraints into technical requirements
Define content requirements for new products and features
Lead cross-functional initiatives to resolve licensing bottlenecks and improve time-to-market for new sources
Go-to-Market
Work closely with the Product Team throughout the GTM process for new content offerings—including pricing, packaging, and customer enablement
Communicate content capabilities and updates to sales, customer success, and product teams
Influence how we package and position content to customers
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Proven experience in content licensing, publisher relations, or media partnerships at scale
Strong commercial acumen—able to negotiate win-win deals and understand unit economics
Excellent project management and cross-functional leadership skills
Deep understanding of copyright, licensing agreements, and media regulations
Strategic thinker who can balance short-term execution with long-term portfolio building
Comfortable with ambiguity, technical complexity, and evolving market needs
Excellent communication skills—able to make complex topics accessible to non-specialists
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously
WHAT WE VALUE
We're looking for someone with intellectual curiosity, high agency, and a collaborative mindset. You should be energised by building something new, comfortable with iteration, and genuinely interested in how content, technology, and AI intersect. We value transparency and direct feedback—we'll invest in your growth, and we expect you to do the same for your team.
Not sure you meet every requirement? Studies show that women and other underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they check every box. At Signal AI, diverse perspectives strengthen our teams, drive innovation, and lead to better performance. So even if your background doesn’t align perfectly with each qualification, we encourage you to apply if you’re passionate about this role.
