Department: Student Engagement & Supports

Job Title: Social Media + Content Writer

Duration/Term Length: 1 Academic Semester

Work Hours: Hours may fluctuate – On Average 6 – 12 Hours a Week

Location: Hybrid – All Campuses; Some Remote Work


Job Purpose:

CCSAI is looking for a student to work with our Marketing and Communications team to curate social media and web content for all CCSAI Networks. The Social Media + Content Writer works with a team of professional staff to support Centennial students and the goals of the organization.


The types of content work can vary from event and service promotion, script and blog writing and developing a variety of social media content. The Social Media + Content Writer will work closely with the Marketing and Communication team and other Engagement Staff Team members to curate and distribute engaging content.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support the ongoing maintenance of CCSAI digital platforms to increase visibility and engagement with social and written content.
  • Outline, generate, and publish weekly content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
  • Attend events and programming to shoot content for social platforms.
  • Monitor and engage with all user-generated content across CCSAI digital platforms.
  • Regularly review & update content calendars with ongoing programming at CCSAI.
  • Archive and maintain organized shared digital assets on a regular basis.
  • Prepare written content for videos, blogs, and more, to promote events, services, or engage audiences through briefs, videos and newsletters.
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to brainstorm creative ideas and different methods to promote events, services & other initiatives of the CCSAI.
  • Assist the Marketing & Communications team in developing and executing promotional campaigns and engagements on the CCSAI digital channels.
  • Attends meetings and/or trainings that are scheduled throughout the term.
  • Support the Student Engagement & Supports department with other required duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with social media or as a writer is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital media trends and social media management.
  • Available to travel to all campus locations.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be professional and respectful at all times.


Eligibility

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student for the current semester.
  • Demonstrate good academic standing.
  • Must have a Social Insurance Number.
  • Available for 5 - 10 hours a week (Monday – Friday).
