If this sounds like the kind of place where you’d thrive, we’d love to hear from you.
About the role
GreenScale is developing Tonstad DataPark, one of the Nordics’ most ambitious sustainable digital infrastructure projects, and a long-term investment in Sirdal and Agder. We are building it the right way, with local people, local partners and a lasting presence in the community.
We are not a fly-in, fly-out company. As our Community Manager, you are the face of GreenScale in the area. You are present in Tonstad every day, easy to reach, and trusted across the community. You are the person residents come to with their questions, their ideas and their concerns, and the person who makes sure they are always heard.
This is a permanent, long-term role. Whether the project is in planning, construction or operation, we want the same familiar, trusted face alongside the community throughout the journey.
Key responsibilities
- Be GreenScale’s everyday presence in Tonstad, in the office and out in the community, available to residents and anyone who comes by with questions about the project.
- Build genuine, respectful relationships across the area, with residents, cabin owners, Sirdal kommune, local businesses and community groups, including those who hold concerns about the project.
- Act as the first point of contact for the community, handling day-to-day enquiries and information requests promptly and in plain Norwegian.
- Work closely, day to day, with the Managing Director Norway, Marketing and sustainability teams on community events, communications and administration.
- Help bring people together through public meetings (folkemøte), open days (Åpen Dag) and local events.
- Listen carefully, capture community feedback, and make sure emerging issues reach the right people early.
- Champion local recruitment, local suppliers and community partnerships, helping GreenScale put down real roots in the area.
- Represent GreenScale as a genuinely good neighbour: open, locally grounded and consistent.
Profile
- Strong local knowledge of Sirdal and Agder. Ideally you live in or near the area and know the community well.
- Fluent Norwegian and good working English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills. You are approachable, diplomatic and trusted, and you stay calm and respectful in disagreement.
- Well organised and confident across events, communications and administration.
- A self-starter who works happily from a local office, and equally well as part of a wider team.
What we offer
- A meaningful, long-term role on a landmark project, based in your own community.
- The chance to be the trusted local face of a company investing in Sirdal for the long run, working alongside our Norway team.
- Competitive base salary depending on experience, plus pension and insurance to Norwegian standard.
- An immediate start, and the opportunity to help shape how GreenScale and the Tonstad community grow together.
