Communications Manager job description

The Communications Manager is responsible for bringing the NovaFin brand to life across

all owned and earned channels. This role ensures that the company's brand, voice, and

messaging are executed consistently and effectively throughout the customer journey, from

initial awareness through customer advocacy.

Working closely with senior leadership and future brand leadership, the Communications

Manager will oversee content creation, social media, public relations, creative production,

and brand governance. This is a highly execution-focused role responsible for turning brand

strategy into high-quality, market-facing communications that strengthen customer trust,

engagement, and brand recognition.

Requirements

Brand Execution & Governance

  • Ensure consistent application of NovaFin's brand identity, voice, tone, and messaging across all customer-facing communications.

  • Maintain and update brand guidelines and communication standards.

  • Serve as the primary guardian of brand consistency across marketing, customer communications, product messaging, and sales support materials.

  • Review and provide guidance on materials developed by internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment with brand standards.

Content & Owned Channels

  • Own and manage NovaFin's organic social media presence, including content planning, copy development, publishing, and community engagement.

  • Oversee the company's blog, content hub, and other owned communication channels.

  • Develop content that supports brand awareness, customer education, trust-building, and engagement.

  • Maintain a consistent content calendar and publishing cadence across channels.

Public Relations & External Communications

  • Develop and manage media relations and external communication initiatives.

  • Prepare press releases, media kits, corporate announcements, and executive communications.

  • Coordinate spokesperson preparation and support media opportunities.

  • Monitor media coverage and ensure brand messaging is accurately represented.

Creative Production Management

  • Develop creative briefs and manage the production of marketing and communication assets.

  • Coordinate internal designers, agencies, freelancers, and production partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and on brand.

  • Review and approve creative output to ensure quality and consistency.

Vendor & Agency Management

  • Manage relationships with creative agencies, freelancers, public relations firms, and external production vendors.

  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, deliverables, and quality standards.

  • Evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Community Engagement & Brand Advocacy

  • Manage community interactions across owned social platforms.

  • Monitor customer feedback and identify opportunities to strengthen brand perception.

  • Support initiatives that encourage customer advocacy and positive brand engagement.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Track and report on content, social media, public relations, and brand engagement performance.

  • Monitor brand sentiment, media coverage, engagement metrics, and share of voice.

  • Provide recommendations to improve communication effectiveness and audience engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5–8 years of experience in communications, content marketing, public relations, social media management, or brand communications.

  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, and creative production workflows.

  • Experience within fintech, financial services, consumer lending, or technology environments is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of content development, public relations, social media management, and brand governance.

Knowledge & Skills

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.

Strong editorial judgment and storytelling capabilities.

Experience developing and managing content calendars and communication plans.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Experience coordinating creative production across internal and external resources.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to brand consistency.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
