This role will be based in Sunnyvale, San Francisco or New York City.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. 

LinkedIn is hiring a Communications Manager with B2B communications experience to develop and execute storytelling around how LinkedIn powers businesses and helps them grow. This individual will work across our global Customer & Tech Communications team and will drive thought leadership campaigns and customer success stories that demonstrate the value LinkedIn delivers across our portfolio of B2B products through earned media, creator engagements, and owned content. 

The Communications Manager will support the development and execution of global B2B thought leadership campaigns targeting C-suite audiences, as well as executive profiling. They will also help mine compelling stories that showcase customer value from across our Advertising, Recruiting and Sales businesses, working with Comms teammates, cross functional partners, and customers. They will maintain a solid pipeline of customer stories and develop them into communications content that can be leveraged across a variety of campaigns and moments.

We’re looking for a self-starter who can connect the dots across different teams - including global comms, product, marketing and sales - drive media relations, and work across large campaigns.  

In addition, expertise in writing, social content development, project management, organizational skills, and stakeholder management are required to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support customer storytelling across our entire portfolio of B2B products to reach recruiter, marketer and seller audiences
  • Develop innovative approaches to elevate customer success stories across earned, owned, and social channels
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of customer stories and proactively identify opportunities to amplify those stories 
  • Gather insights/data to tell stories, turning complex information into engaging, easy-to-understand stories
  • Pitch stories and secure earned/creator coverage that help our customers understand the value LinkedIn provides 
  • Support proactive and reactive storytelling and narrative building
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media targets across tier-one outlets
  • Stay ahead of media trends and changes to ensure we are always adapting our strategies to drive meaningful earned media results for the business
  • Write and/or edit content, including, but not limited to pitches, narratives, articles, LinkedIn platform posts, bylines, etc.
  • Build relationships with LinkedIn Global Communications teammates
  • Help to connect the dots across lines of business to identify opportunities to collaborate on larger LinkedIn stories to drive a #OneLinkedIn approach to communications
  • Embodies and supports LinkedIn’s culture and values and ensures they are represented in individual work
  • Proactively identifies and escalates potential reputational risks
  • Leverages AI tools to support work

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or related experience, and 2+ years in B2B communications

Preferred Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B communications roles, including customer storytelling, media relations, product comms, or thought leadership campaigns
  • Experience supporting executive thought leadership, executive profiling, or executive communications programs.
  • Ability to translate customer insights, business results, and data into compelling communications narratives.
  • Executes projects with tight deadlines and cross-functional dependencies
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to critically think about how to position a story and weave in multiple messages to maximize opportunities
  • Ideal candidate has some experience managing issues that may impact reputation
  • Proficient at applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to daily work
  • Experience developing scripts and video content for executives
  • Organizational skills and ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once
  • Experience working across cross-functional teams towards a common goal or initiative 
  • Solid media relations experience, including pitching stories, developing reporter relationships, and monitoring media and industry trends
  • Strong project management and decision-making skills
  • Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.    

The pay range for this role is $100,00 to $156,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
