Summary of the Content Creator & Video Editor (Freelance) job at Zoku

Zoku is hiring a Content Creator & Video Editor (Freelance). Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Working arrangement: On-site.

About Zoku

Zoku operates hybrid hospitality properties that combine elements of a hotel, home, and office for business travelers, remote workers, and digital nomads staying in a city for days to months. Its concept features private loft accommodations, coworking spaces, social areas, and meeting venues across locations in Europe.

Content Creator & Video Editor (Freelance) job description

Do you see a story in a rooftop sunset, a chef plating something new and two strangers becoming friends over dinner? Are you as strong at editing as you are behind the camera, and fast at both? Then keep reading!

This is a new role and an honest experiment. We're testing whether one great in-house creator, plus a trained network of local content spotters, beats hiring freelancers city by city. You're not filling a seat that someone else shaped, you're proving a model and then scaling it. If it works, you'll have built Zoku's content engine. That's a better story than most content jobs can offer.

Zoku provides a home for business travelers who want to live in a city for between a few days and a few months. We're a new type of hotel offering a relaxed place to live, co-work and socialize across Europe. Join an international team of driven, proactive and fun-loving Zokus who all have one thing in common: a passion for connecting people across the globe.

TELL ME MORE

As our Content Creator & Video Editor, you own the content that Zoku plans, publishes and pays to promote. You'll plan, produce and edit high-quality photo and video that brings our brand, spaces, events and commercial campaigns to life (for social, paid media, CRM, website, sales and recruitment) with one consistent Zoku look & feel across every location.

Now the honest part: one person can't be in four hotels at once, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. So we've split content into two streams.

Stream one is yours. Everything planned, high-value and commercially relevant: F&B and rooftop campaigns, key M&E and corporate events, campaign shoots, new partnerships, paid social assets, website and sales imagery, the brand moments that matter. These aren't spotter tasks. They're production, and they need quality, consistency and craft.

Stream two is local. The daily, spontaneous stuff: a resident's story, a busy Friday on the terrace, a team moment, a chef's new dish, captured as raw material by Community Managers you've trained as content spotters. They spot, capture and upload. They don't edit, publish or manage accounts. You select, shape and edit what they send, and you set the bar for what's good enough to leave the building.

Your travel follows a rolling 8–12 week content calendar built around commercial and brand priorities — campaigns, events, F&B, M&E, recruitment, seasonal moments, missing assets and paid media needs — not a fixed rotation. Where the story is, you are.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

No day looks the same as a Content Creator & Video Editor… but here's a glimpse of what you can expect:

  • Own Planned Content Production: Take full ownership of Zoku's planned, high-value content — campaign shoots, F&B and rooftop, key events, partnerships, paid social assets, website, sales and recruitment content — from concept to delivered asset.

  • Plan Around a Rolling 8-12 Week Calendar: Build and maintain your production and travel plan against commercial and brand priorities, so every trip earns its place.

  • Film & Photograph: Capture Zoku spaces, community events, food & drink, guest experiences and the people who make it all work: confidently, and in a way that never feels staged.

  • Edit & Deliver: Edit short-form video and stills with a strong sense of pacing, storytelling, subtitles and music, and deliver ready-to-use assets in the right formats and ratios for each channel. On time, ready to publish.

  • Find the Stories: Identify and develop authentic stories featuring residents, guests, partners and team members across all four locations.

  • Train & Run the Spotter Network: Train Community Managers to capture usable raw material, write and maintain a simple spotter guide (what to capture, how to film it, what not to do, consent rules, where to upload), and keep the network motivated and consistent.

  • Guard the Look & Feel: Own Zoku's visual standard. You're the quality gate between raw material and anything that carries our name.

  • Run the Asset Library: Keep everything organized, tagged, consented, rights-cleared and easy for the team to find and reuse.

  • Support the Wider Team: Deliver assets to the Social Media & Content Manager for publishing, and to Marketing, eCommerce and Sales for campaigns, landing pages and pitches.

  • Work Smart with AI: Use AI as part of your workflow — rough cuts, subtitling and translation, reformatting and versioning, background clean-up, asset tagging and search — so more of your time goes into shooting and storytelling and less into repetitive post-production.

  • Prove the Pilot: Track what performs, feed it back into planning, and help us decide how this model scales across the portfolio.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • An hourly- or day rate in accordance with experience and know-how.

  • A fun, international company with colleagues from across the globe to meet, learn and grow with.

  • Four cities as your studio: Amsterdam, Vienna, Paris and Copenhagen, with monthly travel built into the role.

  • Genuine creative ownership: you set the visual standard for the whole brand, not just execute someone else's mood board.

  • The chance to design and prove a content model from scratch, and to build the local network that makes it work.

  • Exciting on-the-job learning opportunities and fun events throughout the year to celebrate achievements and milestones.

  • A role at one of the 25 coolest hotels in the world, that feels like a second home and is purpose-driven.

  • Have a strong sense of brand consistency and visual quality.

  • Have experience with lifestyle, hospitality, food, events, coworking or community content. This is considered an advantage.

  • You actively use AI tools in your day-to-day work.

  • You are able and willing to travel monthly across Amsterdam, Vienna, Paris and Copenhagen.

  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • You are an EU resident or have a valid working and residence permit for The Netherlands.

  • You love to work, because we'll need you full-time.
