Motion Designer & Video Editor job description
About your role ๐
We're looking for our first in-house Motion Designer & Video Editor to bring Pogo's products and brand to life through video. You'll work across our B2B marketing and B2C growth teams, creating everything from polished product demos and launch videos to high-performing consumer ads.
Specifically, you will:
Bring our B2B product to life through product demos, launch videos, explainers, and other marketing content. Create original UI animations and motion graphics that make complex features easy to understand and exciting to watch.
Create high-performing consumer ads by turning UGC, creator footage, and other raw assets into engaging short-form videos. Experiment with hooks, pacing, storytelling, and creative variations to improve performance.
Edit founder, customer, and brand content, including interviews, testimonials, and other videos that help tell Pogo's story across channels.
Own the end-to-end production process, from concept development and storyboarding through animation, editing, sound, captions, and final delivery. Adapt content for different audiences, platforms, and formats.
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Design to translate briefs into compelling creative, ensure product accuracy, and maintain a consistent visual identity.
Build and improve our video production capabilities, developing reusable templates, motion systems, and workflows that help us produce great work faster and at scale.
Experiment with AI tools throughout the creative process, from ideation and asset generation to editing and production, finding practical ways to increase output without sacrificing quality.
About you ๐ฉโ๐
You have a strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional motion design and video editing skills, including original animation and footage-led content.
You have experience creating video content for B2B technology or SaaS companies, whether in-house or at an agency. You know how to translate complex products into clear, compelling visual stories.
You're highly skilled in motion design, with a strong understanding of typography, composition, timing, transitions, and sound. You can create polished UI and product animations from scratch.
You have excellent video editing instincts, particularly for short-form and performance-driven creative. You know how to capture attention, tell a compelling story, and make every second count.
You're equally comfortable creating polished B2B product content and fast-paced consumer ads, and understand how to adapt your creative approach to different audiences and objectives.
You're highly proficient in After Effects, Premiere Pro, or equivalent professional tools, and comfortable working with Figma and product design assets.
You're already incorporating AI into your creative workflows and are excited about how new tools can help you produce better work, faster.
You're a self-starter who takes ownership from start to finish. You manage competing priorities, communicate proactively, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where feedback is direct and iteration is constant.
Bonus: Experience with filming or directing, 3D animation, web animation, or code-based motion.
Why you might be excited about this opportunity ๐
You'll have significant creative ownership. As our first in-house Motion Designer & Video Editor, you'll help define Pogo's motion and video style and establish how we bring our products and brand to life.
You'll work on two very different products. You'll have opportunities to stretch your creative range, from sophisticated enterprise product storytelling to consumer-facing performance creative.
Your work will have a direct impact. You'll create content used across major product launches, marketing campaigns, our website, and paid acquisition, with visibility into how your work performs.
You'll help build the function from the ground up. You'll have the freedom to introduce new tools, experiment with creative approaches, and establish the systems and workflows that make our team more effective.
You'll work closely with the people building and growing Pogo. You'll collaborate directly with our Marketing, Product, and Design teams, with plenty of opportunities to contribute ideas and shape the creative direction.
Why you might not be excited about us ๐
This is a hands-on, individual contributor role. You'll spend most of your time designing, animating, editing, and producing content, rather than managing other people or external agencies.
You'll be supporting both our B2B and B2C teams. If you're only interested in highly polished brand films or exclusively performance-driven ads, this probably isn't the right fit.
Priorities may shift quickly. While we make calculated bets, we have a strong culture of experimentation, and we'll pivot as necessary based on what we're seeing in the data and hearing from our users.
We expect more than 9 to 5. Raw hours make an impact at our current stage. That said, we trust each team member to create a flexible schedule that allows them to be most productive while accommodating priorities outside of work. We also strongly encourage time off: in addition to unlimited PTO, we have a minimum 20-day vacation policy ๐ด
