About the Opportunity
Social Media Manager & Content Creator | $72k-84k annual salary, commensurate with experience.
David Zwirner seeks a full-time Social Media Manager and Content Creator based in New York to support the management of the David Zwirner and David Zwirner Books social media channels. Success in this integral, cross-departmental role requires experience in and enthusiasm for social and digital platforms, a genuine interest in fine art, an understanding of basic best practices across relevant channels, and intermediate-level content creation skills.
The individual in this role should be highly organized, an independent thinker, and a problem-solver who takes a collaborative approach to creative content production and campaign management. The role breaks down to approximately 40% content creation, 40% management and logistics, and 20% thought leadership and innovation. Position hours are Monday - Friday, 10am to 6pm EST. The candidate will occasionally need to work additional hours.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate, produce, and publish content for all David Zwirner and David Zwirner Books social media channels, including Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, and Instagram (including Stories, Reels).
- Collaboratively develop, execute, and help further the creative vision and approach for content across all channels (excluding WeChat) under the leadership of Social Media Director and Head of Content.
- Manage, maintain, and deploy a master content calendar in Notion, ensuring that key dates across all respective internal Marketing and Sales calendars are strategically integrated into social timelines.
- Assist in the information gathering and copywriting process for post captions with support from Research and Content Editors.
- Secure approved internal assets (with support from Photo, Research, and Content teams), in addition to sourcing relevant external/user-generated content and capturing content on-site, to be used in social posts.
- Develop, produce, and edit short-form select video content for channels, including capturing on-site material in our galleries.
- Collaborate on producing design briefs related to all social media campaign deliverables, as well as producing social media assets in accordance with best practices, both organic and paid. Liaise with the paid social team on content opportunities and social media best practices.
- Support in identifying and developing relationships with social influencers and ambassadors year-round in the attendance and promotion of gallery programming.
- Interface with cross-functional teams regarding daily content requests and proposals; manage the submission, feedback, and approval processes to completion, respecting all key dates and deadlines.
- Help to publish, schedule, and distribute all approved content, with relevant CTAs and tracked links.
- Support with daily community management.
- Assist with tracking results and generating performance-based reports as required.
- Thought leadership– serve as a social media advocate and idea generator within the gallery.
- Continuous ideation– suggest and implement new features, tools, and ideas to raise brand awareness and grow channel followings.
What we would like you to have:
- BA (Art History, Administration, Marketing preferred)
- 2-3 years related working experience; agency or equivalent experience a plus.
- Experience managing content for multiple social media channels, and their related production and tracking tools.
- Strong verbal and written skills, especially communicating internally to coordinate content from multiple departments.
- Excellent writing/editing/visual/judgment skills.
- An understanding of analytics and campaign measuring tools.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with different levels of the organization.
- Basic-to-intermediate level knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro required. Experience with Notion and Figma is a plus.
