Creative Strategist (Paid Social + Performance Design) job description
Company Description
jetfuel.agency is a performance marketing agency for DTC and e-commerce brands, mostly in the $5M to $50M revenue range. We're a small, fully remote team. Creative strategy is part of every role here, and every role uses AI daily: we build reusable skills and automations inside our own agency platform, then check every output by hand before it reaches a client.
Job Description
Full-time or part-time. Fully remote.
You write the briefs and make the finished ads for Meta and TikTok. This role combines design, creative strategy and production in one person. On each account you partner with a Growth Strategist, who runs media and the client relationship, while you run the creative side.
We're hiring at the Mid level of our Creative Strategist career path (Junior, Mid, Senior, then Lead or Director). We'll also talk to strong Junior and Senior candidates and level you against the same grid we use for the team.
What you'll do
- Write your own briefs, covering angle, persona, awareness stage, hook and format.
- Take a concept from brief to finished asset without hand-offs: statics, video cuts, UGC edits and landing page modules.
- Pull customer language from reviews and ad comments, then build personas and message maps before you open a design file.
- Run content gap analysis on competitors in the Meta Ad Library and on the account's own ads.
- Explain why an ad works using hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA and creative tags.
- Design tests with a hypothesis, one variable and a success metric, and log every result in our platform.
- Know how attribution windows change creative results, and flag a "winner" propped up by view-through conversions.
- Design landing page and product page sections, and watch Clarity recordings to see what visitors skip.
- Present creative on client calls and turn the feedback into the next round.
- Plan monthly output against the media plan and keep your hours inside each account's scope.
- Turn a repeatable production task into an AI workflow your teammates reuse.
- Write up creative gaps on your accounts with the extra scope and cost they would need.
How we measure the role
- On-time delivery against agreed dates
- Revision rounds caused by a missed brief or brand rule
- QA escapes (off-brief or off-brand assets reaching a client or going live)
- Share of your tests with a written hypothesis, clean setup and logged analysis
- Hours logged against creative scope
Qualifications
- 2 to 5 years making paid social creative for DTC brands, with a portfolio of statics, video and UGC edits and the results behind them.
- Strong in Figma or Adobe CC, plus a video editing tool.
- Comfortable in Meta Ads Manager and a creative analytics tool like Motion.
- You already use AI image, video and copy tools in production, and you check every output before it ships.
- Clear written English. We review your briefs and test write-ups as closely as your ads.
- Bonus: Klaviyo email design, landing page builds, UGC creator sourcing.
Additional Information
How you grow here
Every level on the career path is written down: what you do, how it's measured and what evidence moves you up. Promotion comes after two quarters of next-level work, reviewed by a panel of three leaders. Your manager reviews your pay step every quarter, so you never have to negotiate a raise. After Senior, you choose between Lead (senior individual contributor) and Director (people leader).
Moving from Mid to Senior usually looks like setting creative strategy across several accounts, mentoring one to three teammates, running a creative automation you monitor and writing creative expansion proposals with a business case.
