Job Description

The Senior Multi-Platform Producer/Booker is responsible for producing and line producing live news programming and developing compelling content across broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms. This senior editorial role requires strong live-production experience, excellent editorial judgment, and the ability to manage all elements of a show from concept through air.

The Senior Producer will play a key role in the control room, building and managing rundowns, responding to breaking news, coordinating correspondents and live elements, and making real-time editorial decisions. The position also identifies newsworthy stories, books high-profile guests and newsmakers, and produces interviews and segments across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Line produce live newscasts, special reports, and breaking-news coverage, managing the rundown and making real-time editorial and timing decisions from the control room
• Lead the editorial and production execution of programming across linear television, streaming/FAST, digital, and social platforms
• Build, organize, and continuously update rundowns based on breaking news and evolving editorial priorities
• Coordinate anchors, correspondents, reporters, control room teams, and field crews to execute live programming
• Manage live shots, satellite interviews, remote guests, video, graphics, banners, scripts, and other production elements
• Make quick editorial decisions during live coverage while maintaining accuracy, balance, standards, and production quality
• Produce live and taped interviews and segments from initial concept and research through final execution
• Identify, pitch, and develop strong news, political, and community stories that can work across multiple platforms
• Book high-profile guests, newsmakers, experts, political figures, analysts, and community leaders
• Research topics and prepare strong, editorially sound interview questions and briefing materials
• Write and edit scripts, teases, banners, headlines, and other editorial copy
• Adapt content and storytelling for the specific needs of broadcast, streaming, digital, and social audiences
• Collaborate closely with executive producers, assignment editors, correspondents, reporters, digital teams, and newsroom leadership
• Help plan and execute major breaking-news events, elections, debates, town halls, special events, and other large-scale coverage
• Maintain strong relationships with sources, press offices, publicists, experts, and community leaders
• Provide editorial guidance and mentorship to producers, associate producers, and bookers
• Work effectively under intense deadline pressure and adjust programming quickly as news develops

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 5–7 years of television or multi-platform newsroom experience, with significant experience producing and line producing live programming
• Demonstrated ability to lead a live show from the control room and manage rapidly changing rundowns
• Strong knowledge of live television production, breaking-news workflows, and control-room operations
• Experience producing content for multiple platforms, including broadcast, streaming/FAST, digital, and social
• Strong editorial judgment, news instincts, writing, research, and storytelling skills
• Proven experience booking and producing interviews with high-profile guests and newsmakers
• Ability to coordinate multiple live elements, correspondents, guests, graphics, video, and technical resources simultaneously
• Experience with newsroom systems such as iNews, Avid, ENPS, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of current events, including U.S. politics and major national and international news
• Bilingual: fluent in Spanish and English, written and verbal
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, particularly during breaking news and major events
• Ability to travel for major news events and special coverage when required
