What does a Marketing Analyst do?
A Marketing Analyst collects, organises, and interprets data from marketing campaigns, web analytics, and audience research to help teams make evidence-based decisions. Day-to-day they build and maintain dashboards, track KPIs across paid, organic, and owned channels, run A/B test analyses, produce regular performance reports, and identify trends or anomalies that inform budget allocation and messaging strategy. They work closely with content, SEO, paid media, and product teams to translate raw data into clear, actionable recommendations.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain performance dashboards tracking key marketing KPIs
- Analyse campaign data across paid, organic, email, and social channels
- Conduct audience segmentation and cohort analysis to identify growth opportunities
- Interpret A/B and multivariate test results and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Produce regular reports on traffic, conversions, CAC, and ROI
- Support budget planning by modelling channel performance and forecasting outcomes
Skills & tools
Education & background
Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, economics, or a related field; strong portfolio of analytical work is equally valued
