We are looking for an experienced reporter to discover and write investing and markets story. The reporter should be able to talk to investors, analysts and other sources to support a strong investing view on a stock, sector or theme. The reporter will build on our efforts for premium investing and markets content. The reporter should be able to work under pressure, take direction from editors and show readers a depth of experience with investing amd markets writing.
Responsibilities:
- Cover major market news by monitoring stock movements and talking frequently to sources to generate angles.
- Write investing angles of the bit company stories of the day.
- Work as a team player across all Versant News platforms.
- Discover, locate and interview new trader, investor and analyst sources.
- Write longer enterprise pieces that shed light on new areas of attractive investment.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $75,000-$115,000.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of reporting experience on investing and/or markets
- Strong knowledge of the financial markets.
- Strong ability to analyze company financials and when they are signaling a change.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure
- Solid writing and verbal communication skills.
- High comfort level on executing assignments generated by editors.
- Proven ability to build relationships and leverage network/sources to break or develop stories
