The impact of this role

Email Marketing is a vital method that our members and stakeholders interface with. All of our events, programming, learning opportunities, membership benefits, and more move through this channel. The Email Marketing Specialist is the primary owner of AMA’s email marketing channel, responsible for day-to-day execution, calendar management, and performance reporting across a high-volume email program. Reporting to the Senior Growth Marketing Manager, this role offers full visibility into a well-established email program with infrastructure already in place. It is ideal for a detail-oriented, technically proficient marketer who thrives on managing competing priorities in a high-volume, multi-stakeholder environment.

What you’ll be doing

Campaign Execution

  • Build, test, and deploy a high volume of email campaigns across program types, including promotional, informational, sponsored, fulfillment, transactional, and lifecycle.
  • Manage the email marketing calendar, ensuring campaigns are scheduled, coordinated across teams, and delivered on time.
  • Apply audience segmentation and list logic to ensure the right contacts receive the right communications.
  • Maintain meticulous attention to detail across all sends, including copy, links, audience selection, send time, and formatting.

HubSpot and Marketing Automation

  • Execute and maintain email campaigns and workflows within AMA’s HubSpot Marketing Hub.
  • Work within existing automation infrastructure, including nurture workflows, triggered communications, and lifecycle programs.
  • Support list management, contact segmentation, and subscription type maintenance in HubSpot.

Reporting and Performance Monitoring

  • Pull and maintain regular email performance reports covering open rate, click rate, deliverability, conversion rate, and list health.
  • Monitor campaign performance and proactively flag issues, anomalies, or opportunities to the Senior Growth Marketing Manager.
  • Support A/B testing execution and document results to inform ongoing optimization.
  • Maintain documentation of email processes, campaign history, and program changes to ensure continuity.

Copywriting and Brand Voice

  • Edit email copy across campaign types, maintaining AMA’s brand voice and messaging standards.
  • Apply brand voice guidelines consistently across all email communications.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholder teams to review and refine email copy submissions.
  • Serve as the primary email point of contact for cross-functional teams, coordinating email requests, managing communication calendars, and ensuring timely execution across all stakeholder sends.

What you bring to the table

  • Experience working in a remote-first environment.
  • More than two years of experience in HubSpot (Marketing Hub)
  • More than two years of experience working cross-functionally in Asana
  • Familiarity with campaign and segmentation management, and basic workflow execution.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a strong track record of error-free, high-volume email building, testing, and execution. During a busy season, this may look like five or more emails per day.

What you may also have

  • Agency experience a plus
  • Copywriting experience preferred.
  • Examples of work to share

What to expect from the interview process

  • Recruiter and Hiring Manager resume review (AMA does not use AI to screen candidates at any point in our process)
  • One-way video interview on Spark Hire (We promise this isn’t scary! Our questions are well thought out, and we wanted your answers to be as well. So you have unlimited think time for each of the five {# of Questions} questions we ask!) that will take 15-20  minutes.
  • 30-minute phone interview with a member of AMA’s People and Culture team
  • Virtual Interview with the hiring manager and key stakeholders you’ll be working closely with
