Role Summary
Fanatics Collectibles is seeking an Editor supports the editorial process on assigned projects, working closely with Senior Editors, Product Development, Design, and Operations teams. This position helps coordinate content, proofing, image selection and production activity to support the timely delivery of trading card and sticker products. The Editor contributes to compelling and accurate products while escalating issues and key decisions to the Senior Editor, Supervising Editor or Editorial Manager as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational:
- Support Senior and Supervising Editors by helping to maintain weekly and daily priority lists for assigned projects
- Work with NASE and TEL teams to follow agreed processes and systems, including Card Factory, CIA content management platforms and external agencies
- Help identify and escalate issues across subject lists, image assignments and cross-departmental communication
- Share process knowledge with new starters where appropriate and support onboarding activity under guidance
Editorial:
- Select, assign and crop high-quality, design-appropriate photographic images, with guidance where required
- Draft and edit text and statistics-based content for collectible trading cards and sticker albums
- Support the development and maintenance of subject lists in partnership with the brand team
- Review proofs for accuracy, integrity, consistency and adherence to style guidelines
Operational:
- Coordinate with internal and external content providers under the direction of Senior Editors or the Editorial Manager
- Support external vendor communication throughout production, correction and imposition cycles
- Support tracking of prepress costs and raise budget queries to the Senior Editor or Editorial Manager
- Develop strong working knowledge of internal content management platforms
Product development:
- Collaborate with brand and design teams to support themes and looks for assigned projects
- Contribute ideas in product review and brainstorming sessions for upcoming production cycles
Skills and Experience Required
- 1-2+ years of editorial experience, ideally in publishing, sports media, collectibles or a related environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field preferred
- Strong working knowledge of professional sports, historical and current, particularly English Premier League, Bundesliga, World Cup, UEFA domestic and international competitions, including Champions League, Europa League, EUROS and Nations League
- Strong command of grammar, copy-editing, fact-checking, accuracy and adherence to style guidelines
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), publishing and image software, such as Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks across multiple departments
- A strong team player with a proactive and accountable approach
- Ability to work across multiple projects, respond to changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Previous experience in licensed or sports publishing is a plus
