Role

The Freelance Video Editor exists to turn raw footage into high-performing content that earns attention, retains audiences, and supports measurable business outcomes across the Acquisition.com portfolio.

ACQ Media is the in-house media engine behind Acquisition.com and its portfolio of brands. We produce long-form series, podcasts, and daily social content that reach millions of people around the world. Our team operates like a studio, with structured production systems, clear performance standards, and an active investment in AI-assisted workflows.

This is a hands-on, flexible engagement for an editor who can move confidently between long-form YouTube videos, podcasts, short-form social content, and new formats. Assignments will be offered based on production needs, so the volume of work will vary from month to month.

You will partner with the Senior Editor, your primary ACQ Media contact, and work within the creative and technical standards established by the Senior Editor and Director of Post Production.

Responsibilities

• Edit polished long-form videos, podcasts, and short-form content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging platforms

• Translate creative briefs, pre-production outlines, and packaging direction into focused edits with strong hooks, pacing, structure, and storytelling

• Maintain organized, handoff-ready project files that follow ACQ Media’s naming conventions, folder structures, and post-production workflows

• Communicate progress, surface blockers early, collaborate with other editors, and incorporate feedback within agreed timelines

• Use performance data, platform trends, and emerging editing tools to improve future creative and workflow decisions

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio demonstrating strong long-form and short-form work

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and the editorial judgment to turn raw footage into a clear, compelling narrative

• Excellent file-management habits and experience working within collaborative post-production pipelines

• Reliable written and verbal communication, including responsiveness in Slack and familiarity with project-management tools such as Monday.com

• Working knowledge of audience-retention principles, platform-native content practices, and AI-assisted editing workflows

Results

• Long-form videos are delivered on time and support strong audience retention and watch time

• Short-form edits meet platform-native quality standards and support the planned publishing cadence

• Project files remain accurate, organized, and ready for another editor to continue without confusion

• Stakeholders receive timely status updates, and delivery risks are raised early with practical solutions

• Performance insights and workflow improvements are applied to subsequent edits

Schedule

• This is an on-demand freelance engagement with no guaranteed minimum number of working days. Work may range from approximately three days in a month to three weeks in a month, depending on production needs.

• Availability during US West Coast business hours is preferred for collaboration.

Location

• This is a remote engagement.

• Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with a team operating primarily during US West Coast business hours.

Compensation:

• $400-$500 per day

• The final day rate will be based on relevant experience and the scope of the assignment. The rate and expected number of working days will be agreed upon before each assignment begins.
