The Opportunity

This is an early seat in a growing office. The Vice President will do hands-on client work with a senior team and help the office try out new ways of working, including AI-enabled tools built with Teneo's firmwide AI team. If you want to learn fast, take on real responsibility, and help shape how a modern communications advisory team operates, this role is for you.

Who We're Looking For
A sharp, curious communications professional who is comfortable with technology and eager to build. You may have worked at an agency, in-house, or both. What matters most is that you are entrepreneurial, use AI to speed up your own work, and like figuring out better ways to get things done.

Responsibilities

• Be a key member of the core account team, working with Account Managers and leaders on client mandates.

• Manage day-to-day account work and the production of deliverables such as strategic plans, press releases, talking points, Q&A documents, and briefing memos.

• Support clients through moments of transition and help translate their strategy into clear, practical communications plans.

• Engage with media, including pitching stories and meeting reporters, and keep up with trends across paid, owned, and earned channels and across old and new media, including podcasts, newsletters, and creator platforms.

• Use your network of media and stakeholder relationships to serve clients and bring opportunities to the firm.

• Use AI tools to work faster and better, and help build and test new tools and workflows with Teneo's firmwide AI team.

• Mentor junior team members and keep client teams on track.

• Serve as a reliable, adaptable resource for senior team members.

• Contribute to business development, including proposals and pitches.

• Help build Teneo's presence in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in public relations, corporate communications, or media.

• A strong track record of managing client relationships.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to see complex projects through to execution.

• Knowledge of the media landscape and experience working with press or building reporter relationships.

• Experience with issues and crisis management, or complex and sensitive mandates.

• An understanding of business and financial markets.

• Excellent written and verbal communication. PowerPoint skills are a must.

• Hands-on use of AI tools, with enthusiasm for finding new ways to apply them.

• Familiarity with social media platforms and media monitoring tools such as Factiva.

• Ability to work in complex or ambiguous environments.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

• Experience in technology, media, or fintech, especially with mid- to late-stage startups preferred.

• Experience building or improving a process, program, or tool preferred.

Base Salary Range

$130,000 - $150,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).

Flexible Work Policy

Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible and if you are assigned to the New York office, the company's expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three days a week.
