Senior, Developer Relations and Technical Marketer job description

Senior, Developer Relations and Technical Marketer

Location: Remote (US/CAN),

Type: Full-time

Experience: Senior (5+ years)

Summary

Theori is a global leader in offensive security, founded by the world's most elite hackers. With a decade of unparalleled technical expertise, we're revolutionizing the cybersecurity paradigm with Xint, our AI-native AppSec platform spanning Xint Web (autonomous web app penetration testing) and Xint Code (AI-powered code security). Xint has been featured in The Verge, is in production with customers like Samsung Electronics, and is being adopted by security teams who want hacker-grade testing without hiring an army of pentesters.

The Senior, Developer Relations and Technical Marketer is Xint's voice to security practitioners: AppSec engineers, pen testers, security analysts/researchers and the developers who fix what they find. This role turns our researchers' vulnerability discoveries and the platform's capabilities into research, content and talks that practitioners trust.

This is a senior, hands-on role. This person sets the technical content agenda, does original research personally, and is on stage and in the community as the person practitioners know from Xint. The role works closely with the research team, product, and the rest of marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set Xint's technical content agenda and develop original research on application security, vulnerability classes and AI-assisted offensive security.

  • Run that research, alone or with Theori's researchers, from hypothesis through findings and publication.

  • Turn research into assets practitioners use: write-ups, tools, datasets and reproducible proof-of-concepts.

  • Write technical deep dives on vulnerabilities our researchers discover, from root cause to exploit path to fix.

  • Create written and video tutorials, quick-start guides, demo environments and sample projects that get practitioners to a first finding fast.

  • Own the annual CFP calendar, submit talks and papers to security conferences including Black Hat, DEF CON, OWASP Global AppSec and BSides, and represent Xint on stage, on panels and on podcasts.

  • Host Xint's monthly webinar end to end: set the agenda, book guests, run the session and repurpose the recording.

  • Engage practitioners in Reddit, Discord and other security communities, carry their feedback back to product and research, and maintain Xint's public vulnerability tracker with research on disclosure timing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in technical marketing, developer relations or developer advocacy, ideally for security or developer tools.

  • A public portfolio of technical blogs, how-to videos, tutorials and quick-start documentation you wrote and produced.

  • Hands-on security knowledge: you can read code, explain a vulnerability class such as injection, auth bypass, SSRF or deserialization, and reproduce an exploit path.

  • A record of conference talks, accepted CFPs or published research.

  • Comfort on camera and on stage, including hosting live sessions with guests.

  • Credibility in practitioner communities, with an authentic, non-promotional style of engagement.

  • Clear, precise writing that treats practitioners as peers.

  • BS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Deep application security or penetration testing experience, such as work as a pen tester, AppSec engineer or bug bounty hunter.

  • CVEs, bug bounty findings or CTF results to your name.

  • Security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE or GWAPT.

  • Experience with SAST, DAST or pen testing workflows and tooling, from the practitioner's side.

  • Working knowledge of how LLMs are applied to security analysis.
