About the role

We're looking for a Manager of Corporate Communications to help tell our business story and strengthen our reputation across the entertainment, business, and technology industries. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications, you will manage media relationships, develop stories about our business and strategic initiatives, and help elevate Crunchyroll's executives as industry voices.

You'll work closely with leaders across business development, e-commerce, retail, consumer products, product, engineering, and corporate functions, including Legal, People Experience, Strategy, Finance, and IT/Security. This role focuses on corporate and business communications, rather than title publicity or consumer marketing.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute corporate communications plans that highlight Crunchyroll's business, partnerships, products, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters across business, technology, entertainment business, and industry trade publications.
  • Write press releases, media pitches, executive talking points, statements, presentations, and internal communications materials.
  • Partner with executives and internal teams to identify compelling business stories and prepare leaders for media interviews and speaking engagements.
  • Identify and manage opportunities for industry awards, lists, special features, executive profiles, and speaking engagements.
  • Work across Crunchyroll's business and corporate functions to communicate key developments and initiatives.
  • Partner with Sony Group communications teams on shared initiatives, events, presentations, and corporate storytelling.

We are considering applicants available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Los Angeles office.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 5+ years in corporate communications or public relations with a focus on business, technology, entertainment business, or industry trade media.
  • Established relationships with reporters across business, technology, and industry trade publications.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, including press releases, media pitches, executive communications, and talking points.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives, including preparing and coaching leaders for media interviews and speaking engagements.
  • Ability to translate complex business and technical topics into clear, compelling stories for external audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound judgment, initiative, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with anime, entertainment, pop culture, and the broader media landscape.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

About the Team

The Crunchyroll Communications team is a nimble group of publicists who love talking about anime, our brand, and the broader streaming entertainment industry. We're storytellers and we connect our passionate fans to the content they love through thoughtful press around our fan-centric touchpoints (SVOD, theatrical, events, games, merchandise, and more).
