Job Description
As a member of the Corporate Communications team, the Corporate Communications Specialist plays a key role in executing and coordinating both internal and external communications initiatives. This position partners across functions to develop compelling content, support communication campaigns, manage projects and drive consistent messaging across channels. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, a naturally curious storyteller and a collaborative team player who can develop clear, engaging communications for diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Create content for employee-facing channels, including email, intranet, digital signage, videos and leadership communications.
- Support communications related to organizational changes, business initiatives, employee programs and company events.
- Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop effective messaging.
- Support town halls, employee meetings and engagement initiatives by creating presentations, developing supporting communications materials, analyzing survey results and preparing post-meeting summaries.
- Maintain and update content calendars.
External Communications
- Draft press releases, media statements, fact sheets and external announcements.
- Support media relations efforts and help coordinate responses to media inquiries.
- Support communications related to awards, community engagement, sustainability, thought leadership and company milestones.
- Monitor media coverage and industry trends and provide summaries as needed.
Content Development
- Write, edit and proofread content for a variety of audiences and channels.
- Translate information into clear, concise and engaging messages.
- Ensure consistency of voice, tone and messaging across all communications.
- Help maintain editorial calendars and communications plans.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Coordinate communications projects from concept through execution.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Track communication metrics and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of communications experience, ideally in corporate communications, public relations or employee communications.
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience communicating with employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with media relations.
- Natural curiosity with a strong drive to identify solutions to challenges and problems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, digital communications tools and emerging AI technologies to enhance productivity, support content development and improve communication effectiveness.
