Staff Brand Designer job description
At Moss, we give finance professionals the power to automate their day-to-day and make forward-thinking decisions.
Our team and culture make us unique — we’re driven by impact and growth, where every one of us strives to learn and excel. Recognised by Sifted’s Rising 100 and LinkedIn's Top Startups, we’re here to help propel your career and together, make Moss a lasting success.
You'll join a design-driven team where ideas are valued, craft matters, and collaboration fuels creativity. As a Staff Brand Designer (f/m/d), you'll help shape how the brand shows up across every touchpoint — contributing to the systems, standards, and creative thinking that let the whole team scale its quality.
You'll combine strong conceptual leadership with the hands-on craft to prove it out yourself. Alongside other senior designers on the team, you'll define what "great" looks like, push creative boundaries at a strategic level, and still roll up your sleeves when a piece of work needs an experienced hand — all in a fast-paced environment where quality and speed need to coexist.
Here's what you'll be working on:
Help set creative direction for how complex products come to life through social content and ad campaigns, raising the bar on what "high-converting and on-brand" means for the team
Share ownership of the craft standard across typography, composition, and digital design — reviewing and elevating work across the team as part of a broader senior design practice
Develop concept-driven creative platforms that unify storytelling across touchpoints, building on ideas from across the team rather than working in a vacuum
Act as a senior creative voice in collaboration with marketing, product, and external partners, shaping 360° campaigns from strategy through execution
Contribute to and help govern the design system in Figma as a strategic asset, weighing in on architecture, scalability, and adoption decisions with other senior designers
Help set direction for motion and micro-interaction standards (After Effects, Jitter, Rive), and mentor others building this craft across the team
Shape how AI tools are used across the creative process — building and championing workflows that spread adoption team-wide rather than staying siloed with one person
You'll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in this role:
Seasoned experience across in-house teams, studios, or agencies, with a track record of senior creative ownership
A portfolio demonstrating not just high-quality brand work, but the ability to help set direction and raise craft across a team
Deep expertise in Figma, including how to architect and govern design systems at scale (Auto Layout, components, tokens, governance)
Strong motion design foundation, with the credibility to set standards and mentor others
Recognized point of view on the evolving AI landscape — able to separate real value from hype and help shape team-wide practice. Strongly preferred: experience building and scaling AI workflows (prompt libraries, custom GPTs, production systems) that others adopt
In addition, here are the skills and attributes we are looking for:
Conceptual Thinker – You don’t just execute, you bring ideas. You constantly look for ways to push the brand forward through strong creative concepts
Craft-Driven – You care deeply about the details. Typography, layout, and composition aren’t afterthoughts — they’re core to your work
High Ownership – You take responsibility, spot patterns early, and proactively drive solutions. You manage multiple projects in parallel and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
Clear Communicator – You can confidently present and articulate your ideas, bringing stakeholders along with strong rationale
Fast & Precise – You know how to balance perfection and velocity — delivering high-quality work without slowing momentum
AI-Native Creative – You treat AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut. You know when to leverage it — and when human judgment needs to lead. You’re comfortable using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, or similar across ideation, research, and production
