Photographer / Videographer job description
Photographer / Videographer
About Firebelly
Firebelly is a growth partner for food and beverage brands. We connect strategy, storytelling, content, organic social, paid media, creators, email, analytics, and commercial thinking to help brands grow. Our north star: Tell Stories. Generate Demand. Support Sales.
Our content isn't just “content for content's sake.” Every photo and video we produce should foster greater perceived value, offer an intrinsic benefit that makes the content worth engaging with on its own, reward the viewer by helping them see what the product can unlock for them, and evoke boldness through an idea, execution, or detail that refuses to blend in. The goal is work that feels more valuable, more useful, more motivating, and more memorable, while still being unmistakably real and built to perform.
About the Role
We're looking for a part-time Photographer/Videographer to be a hands-on content engine behind our clients' content, someone equally comfortable behind the camera and in the edit. This role covers high-end, professional studio-style work, including product shots and standalone assets: planning the shoot, capturing the photo and video, and delivering a finished, edited asset that's on-brand, on-strategy, and ready to perform across social, web, print, and PR.
You'll report to the Head of Ops and work directly with Account Managers and the Paid Social team to bring monthly content plans to life. You should love making the thing, from the shot list to the final export.
What You'll Do
Photography & Videography
- Work with Head of Content to plan and lead photo and video shoots for multiple clients, including shot lists, pre-production logistics, prop coordination, location scouting, and scheduling.
- Shoot high-end, professional studio-style content, including product shots and standalone assets, across food, beverage, and product categories.
- Direct on-set to ensure content aligns with brand identity and client specifications, following Firebelly's technical standards for framing, stability, focus, and lighting.
- Edit video and photo assets to meet specific platform and channel specs (organic and paid social, web, print, and PR), including Reels, TikTok, Stories, and YouTube Shorts.
- Handle post-production on every project, including video editing, color grading, and photo retouching and touch-ups.
- Write creative briefs and shot lists for each shoot.
- Apply Firebelly's content approach to every edit: strong hooks, clear subjects, purposeful pacing, and a satisfying payoff.
Production & Project Management
- Support pre-production planning, including scripting, storyboarding, casting, and location scouting.
- Maintain Firebelly's folder structure and file naming conventions so content is organized, findable, and client-ready.
- Coordinate with Account Managers and the Paid Social team on monthly content ideation and shoot scheduling.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and client expectations from concept through final delivery.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional videography and photography experience with a concentration in food and beverage or product-based work. Experience producing content for social media is a plus. Agency experience is strongly preferred. We're open to less experience if your portfolio is great.
- A strong, varied portfolio demonstrating photography and videography/editing. Please include a link to your portfolio.
- Your own professional-grade camera, lighting, and editing equipment.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and/or DaVinci Resolve. Firebelly can provide access to certain software if required.
- Hands-on camera and lighting skills, with an understanding of shot composition, stability, and multi-camera setups.
- Strong post-production skills, including video editing, color grading, and photo retouching and touch-ups.
- A storytelling mindset. You think visually and can write a clear creative brief and turn a brief or content calendar into a compelling shot list.
- Working knowledge of channel specs across social (organic & paid), web, and print, plus trends and short-form video best practices (TikTok, Reels, Stories, Shorts).
- Committed to a regular part-time schedule of up to 20-30 hours per week, with reasonable notice given for shoots.
- Strong project management skills. Comfortable juggling multiple clients and shoots within a part-time schedule.
- Ability to give and receive direct feedback, and the judgment to know when your own work isn't ready to ship to a client.
- A bold creative instinct paired with a high bar for polish and craft.
What Success Looks Like
- 3 Months: You understand Firebelly's standards and workflows, and your shoots and edits consistently meet expectations.
- 6 Months: You independently run well-organized shoots and bring back footage and photos that give the team real options.
- 12 Months: You're a trusted creative partner across clients and internal teams, known for strong judgment, reliability, and raising the quality of the work.
Compensation
- $35-50 per hour, based on experience
- Part-time schedule of up to 20-30 hours per week
- Collaborative, low-ego, high-craft content team
