Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Princess photo products, services, and onboard photo operations.
• Work as part of a team of Photographers to capture high-quality images of guests at events and around the ship, using natural locations, backdrops, and studio lighting as required.
• Consistently produce a high volume of correctly composed, posed, exposed, and focused images that meet company standards.
• Strive to achieve agreed image capture rates and sell-through targets for each event on every voyage.
• Engage proactively with guests in a friendly, professional, and fun manner to encourage them to have their photos taken, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable experience.
• Promote and support the PhotoStudio program by explaining services, answering questions, and helping to secure bookings.
• Assist in the photo gallery and photo shop as assigned, guiding guests through their photo selections and recommending up-sell and add-on products from the retail range.
• Apply effective sales techniques as trained to maximize revenue while maintaining an exceptional guest experience.
• Ensure merchandise is replenished daily and presented neatly and attractively on the sales floor.
• Monitor product quality and stock levels, promptly communicating any issues or shortages to management.
• Organize and maintain secure, safe, and clean stockrooms, lockers, and storage areas in line with company standards.
• Work closely with your supervisor to respond immediately to any service issues, escalating to management when required.
• Take personal accountability for the correct use, care, and security of all issued equipment and company assets.
• Ensure all photographic and studio equipment is used and maintained correctly, reporting any malfunctions or breakdowns for timely resolution.
• Consistently wear the correct, complete company-issued uniform, including name badge and pins, and maintain a high standard of personal grooming.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Professional photography experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in event, portrait, or wedding photography, ideally in high-volume or large event environments.
• Technical photography skills: Proven ability to use professional-grade DSLR cameras, lenses, and accessories to produce consistently well-composed, exposed, and focused images.
• Studio and lighting knowledge: Experience working with studio lighting equipment, light meters, and related accessories; confident in adjusting lighting to suit different environments and guest needs.
• Formal training in photography: Degree or college-level certificate in photography (or closely related field) preferred. Candidates must be able to provide proof of education and verifiable documentation of completed courses and final grades.
• Portfolio of work: Strong, verifiable portfolio showcasing original work (online portfolio and/or printed portfolio for face-to-face interviews).
• Digital and editing skills: Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Windows or Mac) with proficiency in Microsoft Office and image-editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar programs.
• Equipment familiarity: Experience with Nikon DSLR systems, Nikon flash systems, studio flash systems (e.g. Hensel, Godox), and commercial-grade printing equipment (e.g. Fuji Frontier, Noritsu, Epson) preferred.
• Language skills: Fluent (or near-fluent) English with strong verbal communication skills. Effective Japanese language skills are also required for this role to support Japanese-speaking guests.
• Guest service mindset: Passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences, with the ability to engage confidently, build rapport quickly, and create fun, memorable moments during photo sessions.
• Personality and interpersonal skills: Warm, friendly, and engaging communicator with excellent social skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural team.
• Organizational skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple shoots, events, and tasks while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
