In this role, you'll design, refine, and implement learning products across our curriculum and EvolvEd™ course offerings — partnering closely with fellow Instructional Design Specialists (I and III) and subject matter experts to build courses that are compliant, evidence-based, and genuinely engaging.

You'll sit at the intersection of instructional science and healthcare education, translating complex nursing and healthcare content into learning experiences that work — whether instructor-led, e-learning, or blended. You'll help ensure our programs meet federal, state, and Nightingale College standards while staying current with emerging trends in online teaching and learning.

What You'll Do

  • Perform cause, knowledge, or gap analyses to determine the right learning delivery approach
  • Develop course guides for curriculum and EvolvEd™ courses to support facilitation
  • Select the instructional design method, media, and facilitation style best suited to each organizational intervention
  • Build supportive materials that enhance performance improvement strategies
  • Align new and existing course content with optimal instructional methods (instructor-led, e-learning, blended)
  • Stay current on nursing and healthcare curriculum/professional development research and online learning trends
  • Design and execute online course assembly, creation, and packaging within the LMS and authoring tools, partnering with internal and external subject matter experts
  • Develop and refine tests, scoring guides, and curriculum
  • Map course topics, objectives, and assignments into program designs to demonstrate standards are met and assessment is achievable
  • Liaise with Nightingale Education Group committees as needed
  • Participate in cross-functional projects as they arise
  • Devise new processes — or refine existing ones — to optimize training development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Bring Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Learning Science, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Assessment, Learning Design, Curriculum Design, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience designing learning technology, software, or learning environments
  • 2+ years of experience developing courses in an LMS and authoring tools
  • Demonstrated experience designing assessments within distance learning experiences
  • Demonstrated understanding of concept-based, competency-based, project-based, and other learning design models
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to learning design systems with numerous stakeholders and requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years gathering and applying peer-reviewed scholarly research and user research
  • Experience in Nursing/Allied Health/Health Sciences Education
  • Experience in micro-credentialing
