Junior Graphic Designer | Scale-up | Centre of Rotterdam job description

Junior Graphic Designer

Start date: 2 November
Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Location: Rotterdam

At Monday Merch, we’re changing the way companies create, manage, and scale branded merchandise. From onboarding kits to event giveaways and custom webshops, we help ambitious brands turn merch into something people actually want to use.

We’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer with a sharp eye for detail, a strong sense of layout and branding, and the energy to learn fast in a growing company. In this role, you’ll work on real client projects from day one: creating merch concepts, visual assets, mockups, campaign materials, and production-ready files.

You’ll be part of a hands-on creative team where ideas move quickly, feedback is direct, and your work can go from screen to physical product in a short amount of time. If you’re excited by design that is both creative and practical, this could be a great next step.

What you’ll do:
• Develop complex merchandise concepts and high-end 3D visual mockups for international enterprise clients.

• Execute technical artwork mapping onto non-flat physical product templates, apparel, and custom packaging.

• Prepare, split, and verify technical print-ready production files (vectorizing, PMS color matching, DTG/embroidery separations) according to global supplier specifications.

• Translate client brand books into physical product lines while ensuring 100% compliance with strict corporate brand guidelines.

• Design custom digital assets, landing pages, and visual templates for client-specific employee merch webshops and portals.

• Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams (account management, production, and international suppliers) to resolve material-specific design limitations during production.

• Maintain and scale the Monday Merch brand identity across all international marketing, sales, and client-facing touchpoints.

What we’re looking for

  • Master’s degree in Graphic, Industrial or Visual Design.

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience specifically in merchandise, apparel, or physical product design.

  • Expert command of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and proficiency in 3D visualization tools (e.g., Adobe Dimension, Blender) for product mockups.

  • Deep technical understanding of pre-press processes, Pantone color matching (PMS), vector preparation for embroidery and screen printing, direct-to-garment (DTG) techniques, and material-specific print limitations.

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong technical precision, physical product mapping, corporate B2B branding, and packaging design.

  • A designer who can explain creative choices clearly of their work and is open to feedback.

  • Someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with international corporate brand guidelines and translating complex brand systems into physical products.

  • Fluent in English (C1/C2 level) with strong visual communication skills to pitch concepts directly to enterprise clients and communicate with global suppliers.

What we offer

• A dynamic design role with direct impact on production and international client projects

• Continuous professional development and guidance within a fast-scaling B2B design and tech environment

• The unique opportunity to bring physical products to life for top-tier global brands across Europe

• A collaborative, ambitious team based in the heart of Rotterdam

• Competitive market-aligned salary (including 8% holiday allowance)

• Secondary benefits including catered lunch, team events, and custom merch packages

Portfolio Submission Required:

To be considered for this role, candidates must include a link or PDF of their portfolio demonstrating:

  1. Technical vector precision and print-ready artwork (e.g., separation layers, Pantone specs).

  2. Physical product mapping and high-fidelity 3D mockups (merchandise, apparel, or packaging).

  3. B2B Brand translation (examples showing how a corporate brand identity was translated into physical items).

Applications without examples of technical print or physical product design will not be reviewed.
