Summary of the Freelance Digital Graphic Designer job at Hey Harper

As a Freelance Graphic Designer at Hey Harper, you'll support our Brand team by designing high-quality creative assets across a wide range of channels. We're looking for a versatile designer who can jump into ongoing projects, work quickly, and help bring campaigns to life across digital and special physical touchpoints like mailers in our orders or gifting. This is a temporary freelance position with ideally 1 day in our Lisbon office on Monday or Wednesday. We work in a hourly fee structure for 16-24 hours per week, available during 09:00 to 19:00.

You'll work closely with our Senior Brand Designer to produce creative that is both on-brand and performance-driven.

What you'll work on:

• Design creative assets for paid social, website, email, YouTube, and other brand touchpoints

• Create social-first creative for both paid and organic channels

• Support preparation of presentation templates, mockups, and internal creative materials as needed

• Collaborate closely with the Brand team

• Ensure all deliverables align with Hey Harper's visual identity and quality standards
  

We're looking for someone who:

• Available 16-24 hours per week for at least 3 months

• Has strong graphic design skills with a modern aesthetic

• Is proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)

• Has experience designing for digital marketing, social media, and e-commerce

• Can work efficiently, take feedback well, and deliver polished assets with minimal oversight

• Has experience with generative AI tools (a strong plus)

• Has a portfolio demonstrating a range of commercial design work

Requirements

We're not here to gatekeep creativity, but we're looking for someone who has:

• This is a freelance position, ideally with availability to work from our Lisbon office 1 day per week (Monday or Wednesday). However, we’ll prioritize strong talent from across Europe first and foremost. We work on an hourly rate structure.

• At least 4 years of professional experience in graphic design or brand design. This role is not suitable for recent graduates whose experience is primarily internships, or for designers with a predominantly UX/UI or product design background.

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. We also work in Figma, so confidence using it is essential.

• A solid understanding of designing for digital channels including Meta, email, and websites.

• A proactive, collaborative mindset. You take feedback well, iterate quickly, and care as much about business impact as you do about beautiful design.

• Excellent communication skills. You're able to manage multiple projects, explain your design decisions, and work independently.
