What does a Event Producer do?
An Event Producer oversees the full lifecycle of a live event, from initial concept and budget planning through vendor sourcing, logistics coordination, on-site execution, and post-event wrap-up. They work across in-person, hybrid, and branded live formats, collaborating with clients, creative teams, venues, AV suppliers, and talent to deliver events that meet both creative and operational goals. In media and streaming contexts (such as branded premieres or fan activations), they also align closely with marketing and communications teams to ensure the event serves broader campaign objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop event concepts, run-of-show documents, and production timelines
- Manage event budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and track expenditures
- Source and coordinate venues, AV/technical suppliers, catering, and talent
- Oversee on-site production, staffing, and real-time problem-solving during events
- Brief and manage internal stakeholders, clients, and external creative partners
- Conduct post-event debriefs, reconcile budgets, and compile performance reports
