About Us

Mint Source is a remote-first bridge that connects vibrant talent with international clients and agencies, enabling skilled individuals to showcase their expertise on a global stage.

Role Overview

Mint Source is hiring a Creative Strategist (Direct Response) to join a performance creative agency that produces high-volume static ads in-house for DTC and e-commerce brands on Meta. This is a direct response copywriting seat first: you research brands and their customers, find the angles that aren't obvious, and write the headlines that drive the static ads the agency ships every day. The strategy sits on top of that copy from day one: research-backed personas, messaging strategies and creative forecasts for the accounts you write for, turned into briefs that a full creative team executes. You're shielded from client communication so you can focus entirely on the work. This is the mid-level seat on the agency's creative strategy team. This is not a content, SEO, social media or brand copywriting role: if your portfolio is articles, blog posts or brand voice work, it won't be the right fit.

What You'll Do

  • Write pattern-interrupting headlines for static ads across multiple brands, making it immediately clear what the product is and why it matters
  • Produce multiple headline variations on a single angle, each with a distinct voice and structure
  • Research customer insights across reviews, Reddit, competitor ads, and real customer language to surface angles that aren't obvious
  • Develop research-backed personas and messaging strategies for each account you write for
  • Build creative forecasts and hypothesis tables that map which angles to test next
  • Turn research into clear briefs, covering angles, headlines, and visual direction for the in-house design team
  • Read performance data from live ads to see what's working, what's fatiguing, and where the creative gaps are, then push into new angles and formats
  • Use the Meta Ad Library to reverse-engineer competitor creative and catch emerging patterns
  • Use AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT daily for research, persona building, and workflow acceleration

What We're Looking For

  • Direct response copy that has sold. You've written paid ad copy that ran in live Meta accounts, or funnel copy (sales emails, sales pages, VSLs, ad scripts) for consumer brands, and your portfolio shows at least one piece that ran and what it did. You understand avatars, awareness levels and audience sophistication, and you know what makes copy convert
  • Strategy you've already done, not just read about. You've turned research into personas, messaging strategies or briefs that a design or creative team executed, and you can walk through how the research became the angle
  • A repeatable research methodology you can walk through end to end. You dig into real customer language, reviews, and competitor ads rather than guessing, and you know how research becomes copy that performs. "I look at competitors" isn't a methodology
  • Scroll-stopping writing that favors clarity over cleverness, with ten variations on one angle that never sound alike
  • The ability to articulate why an angle will work before it's tested. You don't just have instinct, you can explain the reasoning behind it
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Your headlines go straight into live ads, with no rewrite in between
  • Fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) for research and workflow. This team is heavily AI-integrated
  • Comfort managing multiple accounts simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume creative environment
  • A plus: hands-on performance analysis in Meta Ads Manager with accountability to acquisition KPIs (CPA, ROAS)

Key Performance Metrics (KPIs)

  • Winning ads: the share of your angles and headlines that go on to take spend in the ad account
  • Quality and consistency of copy and briefs, measured by the percentage that moves to production without major revision
  • Creative variety across campaigns, ensuring angles and messaging don't go repetitive
  • Speed of iteration: how quickly performance data from live ads turns into new angles and refreshed copy
  • 30/60/90-day ramp: by day 30, fully onboarded into the research and briefing workflow with supervised output; by day 60, independently producing personas, messaging strategies and headline batches with minimal revision; by day 90, consistently shipping copy that produces winning ads across your accounts

What You Get

  • A high-ownership seat spanning copy and creative strategy, with competitive compensation discussed individually based on experience
  • A fully remote setup working with a North America-based creative team
  • Constant creative workshops, deep AI integration, and real room to grow your strategy skills
  • Clear KPIs and structured feedback loops so you always know where you stand
  • Back-office support from Mint Source for payroll, onboarding, and HR
