Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced Creative Director to lead creative strategy and execution across our marketing, brand, and client campaigns. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role for someone who can set creative direction, build and mentor a team, and translate business goals into compelling creative work with a natural fit for a company operating in the audio ad space.
Key Responsibilities
Own the creative vision and direction for Audiohook's brand, marketing, and client-facing campaigns
Lead the creative process from concept through execution, ensuring high-quality, on-brand output
Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and Product leadership to align creative work with business objectives
Build, manage, and mentor a team of designers, writers, and other creative contributors (in-house and/or freelance)
Develop and evolve brand guidelines, visual identity, and messaging frameworks
Present creative concepts and rationale to internal stakeholders and, as needed, to clients or partners
Oversee production timelines, budgets, and vendor/freelancer relationships
Stay current on creative trends in digital advertising, with particular attention to audio and podcast media
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in creative leadership roles (Creative Director, Associate Creative Director, or similar), ideally within advertising, media, or adtech
Proven track record leading creative teams and delivering high-quality campaigns across multiple formats and channels
Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, brand storytelling, and design/copy execution
Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to sell in creative ideas to stakeholders at all levels
Experience managing creative operations including timelines, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration
Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment, wearing multiple hats as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating or overseeing audio advertising and/or podcast ad creative (host-read scripts, produced audio spots, dynamic audio insertion, etc.)
Familiarity with the podcast/audio media landscape and its unique creative constraints and opportunities
Experience working in adtech or with programmatic/digital media platforms
