Tony Jaynes is a Los Angeles-based musician, producer, writer, web designer, and creative technologist currently building The Artist Hangout, a cinematic YouTube variety show where original music, comedy, research, AI characters, practical creative tools, and live human performance all share the same stage.
Each episode moves between several connected rooms. Tony AI—the polished, optimistic, occasionally overengineered version of Tony—and Sasha, the witty, emotionally intelligent truth-checker, serve as AI commentators from the AI Studio. Live Tony appears from his real apartment studio for short performances, demonstrations, candid progress reports, and the human reason behind each episode. An Inspiration Card frames the central question; the Machine Room turns purpose-built research into a cinematic NotebookLM feature; Sketch Lab and recurring comedy keep the process playful; music and a closing ritual bring the audience back to the artist at the center.
The larger theme is AI2Live: using AI to expand imagination without pretending it can replace the practice, judgment, vulnerability, and effort required to become a stronger live artist. The AI-assisted Set in Seen album is the musical world and recurring map behind the show. Its songs become performance goals, its ideas become scenes, and the distance between the finished vision and what Tony can perform today becomes the real story—learning the music, building practice tools, arranging, rehearsing, and bringing it into the room.
Everything is linked. The Artist Hangout YouTube channel is the front room where the story, characters, research, comedy, and performances meet. ArtistHangout.live is the public creative workshop for episode companions, loopers, sequencers, rhythm and harmony tools, and resources Tony actually uses. JaynesWebmaster.com is the deeper systems laboratory documenting the programming, websites, Studio OS, automation, and production engineering behind the show. Tony is building the studio—and becoming the artist—in public so other independent creators, especially people who learn differently or feel overwhelmed by professional tools, can follow the journey, use what helps, and build alongside him.
