A Gaming Streamer broadcasts live video game sessions to audiences on platforms such as Twitch, YouTube Live, or Kick, typically while providing real-time commentary, reacting to viewer chat, and maintaining an engaging on-stream persona. Day-to-day work involves selecting and playing games, managing stream production (audio, video, overlays), interacting with the community during and between streams, and promoting content across social media. Off-stream, streamers handle channel growth strategy, negotiate brand deals, edit VODs or clips for short-form platforms, and manage subscriber or membership programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Broadcast live gameplay sessions with live commentary and audience interaction
- Manage stream production setup including OBS/Streamlabs, overlays, and alerts
- Engage with chat and community in real time to build viewer loyalty
- Promote streams and clips across social media platforms (TikTok, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube Shorts)
