THE POSITION
—
We’re looking for an Art Director with a strong video-first social focus to join our expanding creative team. This role is rooted in video thinking, from concept through to execution, and is suited to someone with a background in video production, editing, and direction, who understands how high-quality social video is conceived, shaped, and delivered.
You will blend social fluency with conceptual advertising thinking, working closely with a Social Strategist to develop ideas from content briefs and translate them into clear visual approaches, shot lists, and directional guidance, primarily for video-led content across social platforms (with supporting static where required).
You bring a strong visual sensibility, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of how creators work behind the camera. You are confident directing and pushing content creators—providing meaningful feedback on framing, pacing, performance, and visual storytelling—to ensure the final output is elevated, platform-native, and true to the creative intent.
This is a hands-on, fast-moving role within a team working on global accounts, where your ability to conceptualise, direct, and shape high-quality social video will be central to the success of the work.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Social Strategist to turn content briefs into clear creative concepts.
- Develop shotlists, visual directions, and executional plans for video and static content.
- Brief and creatively direct content creators, including guidance on tone, framing, and execution.
- Ensure work balances cultural relevance with consistent brand expression.
- Work with cross-functional teams to maintain cohesion across campaigns and channels.
- Embody nmbl’s principles — collaboration, curiosity, honesty, and a solution-driven mindset.
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience in art direction, social content, or integrated creative roles.
- Strong understanding of social platforms, formats, and emerging content trends.
- Proven ability to think conceptually and execute visually.
- Experience directing creators, photographers, or videographers.
- Portfolio demonstrating conceptually strong and socially fluent creative work.
Conditions:
- Working Hours: Initially aligned to USA overlap hours (approx. 12—9pm CET). As the team and operating model mature, we will work towards more flexibility, with reduced overlap requirements and the ability to operate closer to standard local working hours (e.g. 9am—6pm CET), depending on role responsibilities and team needs.
- Travel Budget: €2,000 annual travel budget (work-related travel, team meet-ups, and collaboration with our US partners)
- Location: Hybrid (The Brewhouse, Malta / Remote)
- Salary Range: €35,000 — €45,000 annually (depending on experience)
