Mō te tūranga | About the role We are looking for an Internal Communications Manager to be based in our Wellington office (complete with barista coffee machine!). This is an awesome opportunity to lead the development and implementation of Meridian's internal communications strategy, working in a close-knit team and reporting to the Head of Communications. This role has one direct report, but previous leadership experience isn't essential. Āu mahi | What you’ll be doing Shaping how Meridian communicates from the inside out, leading an internal comms function that connects our people to the business, its direction, and its impact. Bringing our story to life through people and content, showcasing work, voices and achievements across the organisation in a way that’s engaging, authentic and meaningful. Partnering with senior leaders to land the big moments well. Ensure executives, teams and projects are supported with clear, effective communications that hits the mark. Continuously lifting the quality and impact of internal communications, using data and insights to evolve how we communicate and what we prioritise. Contributing to the culture and success of the broader corporate communications team, using collaboration to achieve alignment between internal and external communications. Ngā pukenga kei a koe mō tēnei tūranga | What you’ll bring You'll bring a proven ability to set and deliver a clear, organisation-wide internal communications strategy that aligns tightly to business priorities, is human-centred and brings people on the journey. You'll have a strong understanding of how a corporate, small knit corporate comms team works and be adaptable to helping with some external comms pieces (our website) and editing internal and external content where needed. You'll have experience working with best-practice internal communications channels and systems, ideally including Microsoft Engage. You'll be able to work alongside senior executives to shape messaging, land key narratives, and communicate complex or sensitive topics with clarity and confidence. We're looking for a natural communicator who can translate complexity into simple, engaging stories across channels and formats. You'll be passionate about using channels, metrics and feedback to continuously improve engagement and cut through. Our ideal candidate will also have experience in using AI for communications and the ability to shoot and edit videos or have a willingness to develop these skills.
